Pook Ahjo’s story is Jani Ikonen’s story.<\/p>\n

He is a watchmaker with decades of experience, who has his own business in Joensuu called Kello-Ahjo. In Kello-Ahjo, all watchmaking work is done, from battery replacement to the manufacture of individual mechanical components.<\/p>\n

Jani became Pook’s partner a couple of years ago, when it was decided to take over the assembly of Pook’s watches, and starts assembling the watches himself. Jani’s area of responsibility naturally had to be responsible not only for assembling the watches, but also for the maintenance of Pook’s watches. He has also been with Andreas in designing many of Pook’s models and especially participated in the development of technical solutions. For example, Jani has made valuable insights regarding the dials of the Ilmari40 clocks, which are made by hand from the magazine of a Suomi machine gun.<\/p>\n

When he came to Pook, Jani thought that he would be able to fulfill his dream of making his own watch, which had matured in the watchmaker’s profession. Pook Ahjo is now ready, after many steps and experiments. It has a red glowing panel that gets lighter from the edges towards the center. The center of the board glows red, as a blacksmith’s furnace should. The red and black color scheme is also reminiscent of Jani and Pook’s roots in North Karelia. The body of the watch is made of stainless steel with a black pvd surface. The watch has a Japanese automatic movement that is known to work for decades with regular maintenance.<\/p>\n

This design includes two different case colour options (Black &Steel). Only 50 pieces of each color combination will be made.<\/p>\n
