<\/p>\nLauri T\u00f6rni is certainly one of the most significant persons in Finnish military history.Lauri T\u00f6rni Perinnekilta Ry cherishes the memory not only of Lauri, but also of other Finnish war veterans who were part of brigade T\u00f6rni.<\/p>\n
What they have achieved, and the spirit they have shown, is something worth cherishing both in the guild’s opinion and in our opinion, not only for our generation, but also for all future generations.Because of the sacrifices of these people, we are independent today and we get to live free. For this purpose, we are making a new series of watches, of which we are now releasing the first watch.<\/p>\n

Pook Osasto T\u00f6rni focuses on Lauri T\u00f6rni’s war path in Finland’s Continuation War from 1941 onwards.In the continuation war, T\u00f6rni initially led an infantry platoon, but later an armored platoon, which advanced all the way to Karhum\u00e4ki.The wagon fleet consisted of Vickers wagons, in addition to which wagons were acquired from the opposite side as spoils of war.<\/p>\n
T\u00f6rni served in the so-called Light Department 8 and became known as a fearless fighter who sometimes carried out operations even without permission, e.g.patrols behind enemy lines.The J\u00e4\u00e4k\u00e4rikompani of T\u00f6rn was officially founded, which has since been known as “Osasto T\u00f6rni, 3.12.1943.It did e.g.remote patrolling and violent reconnaissance, prisoner abductions, etc. Later, a group of about 150 volunteers was formed from volunteer soldiers for offensive operations, led by Lauri T\u00f6rni as the chief. Only soldiers with absolutely exceptional mental strength, physical fitness and military skills were accepted into the group. These qualities were severely tested in the training, before the group was put into real action.<\/p>\n
T\u00f6rni did not emphasize himself, but led his group, which had achieved a legendary reputation, with his own example and essence. When the front was broken in many places in the summer of 1944, these soldiers were thrown into the very places where a quick counter-attack against an advancing enemy had to be made without hope of support from other troops. The last such attack was undertaken by the remaining 55 men.<\/p>\n
In the summer of 1944, Captain T\u00f6rni was appointed a Knight of the Mannerheim Cross, 2nd class, Freedom Cross number 144.<\/p>\n
In the fall of 1944, Captain T\u00f6rni and his comrades-in-arms hid several handguns in the village of Eno in Eastern Finland, in case the war started again.<\/p>\n
After the Continuation War, T\u00f6rn’s war in Finland ended, although he hoped to join the war in Lapland. However, the war in Lapland ended the war in Finland, but Lauri T\u00f6rn’s own war effort did not end there.<\/p>\n
